Top art schools in the world of 2009?

i’ve been searching online for quite a while, but all the results are based on schools in america, im looking for a more broader view.
i heard rhode island school of design is the best in the states, but i would like to know more about art schools worldwide.

I would say absolutely…
I don’t know every art school in every country, but those that are considered the strongest in the English speaking world/countries are, in no particular order: The Slade School (at University College London), Central Saint Martins (in London), RISD, and School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Those are the elite of the elite.
But it can also depend on what you plan to focus on re: art. For example, if you’re actually interested in fashion design, it’s Parsons, Central Saint Martins, and FIT. If it’s ceramics, it’d be the New York State College of Ceramics, at Alfred University.
But in general, the four I mentioned up front are the elite.
there is one in NY which is free tuition if you get in….some good schools might be in France or Germany
